might be a stupid question, but....

i've noticed that all of the aftermarket brake calipers and stuff are all anodized, and everybody who does it themselves paints them. would it be possible to take the calipers off, clean em up, and get them anodized after the fact? what kind of costs would i be looking at (would it be cheaper to buy a bbk with already anodized calipers)? how would this affect heat dissipation? and where would i get it done?

just something about going to the auto store, buying some cheap paint and slappin it on my calipers doesn't make me comfortable.

thanks.

I'm pretty sure you can only anodize aluminum, niobium, tantalum, titanium, tungsten and zirconium. I'm also pretty sure the calipers are cast iron which leaves you with the options of painting or powder coating them.

you can do.... um.... son of a ... for got the name.... its where you spray on the paint with a positive charge and than use the negative poliarity from the metal to bond the paint to the calipers.......

that works well... i forgot the name cause im stubid.

You can also anodize expensium and unobtainium! :-)
