THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED AND WILL BE RESCHEDULED IN AUGUST ON A FRIDAY OR WEEKEND...TBD. Sorry, but Thursday didn't work for most and we only ended up with 8 total meaning it would cost over $360/ car- way to much!!! :mad:

This post is to announce the next major event/get together in Colorado for the NSX owners. With the help of Pikes Peak Acura, I am working on getting the Pueblo Motorsports Park 10 turn road course track reserved for a private event. The target date is July 16th which is a Friday.

Link to Pueblo Motorsports Track Info

I will be meeting with Bob from PPA Thursday(tomorrow) to work out most of the details like: verify the track's availability, the cost per car, times, etc... When we secure the track, it will include insurance- no, not for your car- but in case you or anyone gets hurt!

A couple of things to note, while this was originally intended for the NSX group, many other car owners have heard about this(word travels fast!!) and have asked to come. From our last meeting, I gathered that we all welcome this so currently I have extended the offer. This will help reduce our cost but of course, we will be the hosting car owners! At this point there has been interest from several BMW, Pantera, Porshe and Ferrarri owners. A F-40 is a strong possibility:cool: ! I figure they will all look good in our rear view mirrors! Seriously though, I do want to limit the number of outside cars attending. I want us(NSXs) to get as much track time as possible.

Bob, Brian, Paul, Jeff and probably others from PPA and Pikes Peak Motor Sports will be there. In continued support of the NSX group, they have generously offered to provide tips and informal driving instruction for those of us that aren't quite sure what to do while on the track(I'm speaking of me of course!;) ).

As I get this pinned down, I will update this thread but mark your calenders now and spread the word- try to keep to fellow NSX'rs though! Please post to this thread to show your interest.

If you thought last weekend was fun- this will be a blast! Gentlemen, Start Your Engines!

Til next update-
Brian

Brian,

I'm interested. Amy and I both plan on being there. Need to find some helmets. Any advice on where to get reasonably priced helmets!?? Got pics ready to post from the Cripple Creek trip. That sure was fun!!!

UPDATE COMING!

Sorry it is taking me so long to reply and update this post. I've been on the road. :mad:

Regarding the track event, I will get an update to this posting by Thursday evening, the 24th, at latest- sooner if possible. I need to verify the track pricing and the date again. It looks like it might have to be moved to that Thursday, July 15 versus Friday, July 16 because of a weekend race event there.

Thanks for the patience! I'll post asap.

Brian :)

Colorado Track Event Update is here- PLEASE READ!!!

The Colorado Track Event HAS been moved to Thursday July 15th. Because of the way this has to be put together, I will need to make a financial commitment to the Track and Insurance company by July 7th. At this point, what I need from each of you is a firm commitment- not financial- by the 6th to attend. On the 7th, I will tally up the commitments and secure the date(or not**) of the 15th.

Here is what the day will look like;

· Located in Pueblo, Colorado, Pueblo Motorsports Park will be the location of the event. This is a 2.2 mile track with long straights and lots of room!! Click here for a link to the track-
http://www.na-motorsports.com/Tracks/Pueblo.php#TrackMap

· The course will be exclusively ours; we will be leasing the track for the day. The fee will also cover liability insurance for us.

· Bob from Pikes Peak Motorsports, a certified instructor, will be there for the day and provide driving/racing instruction for everyone. Other SCCA drivers will also be avail for tips and instruction.

· You will have unlimited access to the track during the day. It will not be governed by time slots.

· At this time, lunch will be provided.

If you’ve never raced/driven on a track before but have wanted to try, this is your day! And if you have, this is definitely your day!

Again, like I said in the first post, the NSX group will be hosting this but other cars will be invited so your friends can bring their cars- whatever they are. The more the cheaper but I will limit to the first 35 cars with payment.

The pricing for this will be tiered starting with a minimum of 20 cars.

20 cars will be $180 or about $20 per hour for 8 hours.
If we get 30 cars, the price will drop to $120 and so on.
Each car above 20 will reduce the price and the final total will be driven off of that.

20 = $180
22 = $165
25 = $145
28 = $128
30 = $120
35 = $105

** If I can’t get 20 commitments, I will likely have to call the event off although I will be trying to get support from NSXCA for this and if successful, the above prices will be reduced accordingly.

TO commit, PLEASE do so by REPLYING TO THIS THREAD so others can see. IF you are interested but not sure now, please don’t wait to let me know your interest!! PM me and indicate your interest. I will update the thread with the number of interested PM’s I get every day or two.

In order to make this happen, I need your quick, confidant commitments- not your money. That will be needed later, possibly the day of the event. Until then, all of your credit is good with me. For the record, all of your money for this event will be going directly to the track and for the food. If there is ANY left over, it will be split up and returned. NONE will end up in my pocket.

Thanks

Brian,

Thanks for all or your time in setting this up. Amy and I had made plans to do it on that Friday, and the switch to Thursday won't work for us. We might make it up late in the afternoon. I don't know how long it will go on?? But, for planning purposes, I would count us out. Can you PM me or let me know Bob's phone number with Pike's peak motorsports?? we would like to go up and have some instruction with him. We had hoped to do it at the event, and changed our schedule to make it that Friday. I understand the move to Thursday was necessary. We just want to get some track time and/or some instruction somehow this summer. Thanks again for your hard work, and keep us posted on the other event. Have a great time.

Chris

Response Update as of 6/29 PM

So far I have 6 confirmed. We have a ways to go- 16 to be exact!! If you know others from out of state that would like to participate, please direct them to this post. Also, other cars are welcome. If you invite others, please make sure you know them and it doesn't become 'a friend of a friend of a friend's grandmother's friend!! :D Quality control is important for us to have a safe, fun and "I want to do this again" time!! ;)

If you have any questions, feel free to call me, I'm usally quicker- even if you have to leave a message. Otherwise, stay tuned to this post!
