You might consider searching in electronics or DIY forums where NSX owners converted their center consoles to accommodate a double DIN stereo. With those projects, stripping and repainting the center console is widely discussed.

I am just finishing up my center console. I customized a SOS console and took out the bin. The paint I used was zDipli-Color EBHA09287 Graphite Grey Metallic Honda.

I had some trouble with the bin so I ended up putting a strip of carbon fiber by my new type R shift boot.

I ditched the carbon fiber. Bubbled the first day. Worked too many hours and finally got it painted and installed.
