There's a practice autocross at Texas A&M's Riverside Annex in College Station, TX on Sunday Jan 18th. Registration is from 9-10AM. Anyone with a license can participate. Cost is $15. I'll be there along with several of my non-NSX buddies. I'm planning on staying until ~3PM, get some food, then head back to Austin.
In many ways, the practice events are more fun than a regular autocross. At a regular autocross: You're there for 6+ hours, have to work the course, rarely get more than 4 minutes of seat time. At a practice, you choose how long you want to stay, don't have to work the course, get as much seat time as you (or your tires) can take. In fact, at the last practice, there were two tracks running simultaneously. You get in line, run the course, get back, etc. Lots of seat time.
Yeah, it's nothing like being on a real track. However, I know there are many new NSX owners in the area. This might be a good opportunity to get to know your cars a little better in an environment where there is essentially a 0% chance of damaging anything.
