2nd corner in, the rear upper control arm failed sending me violently into large boulders at 8+mph (ED: He probably meant 80+ mph.), followed by a massive flame and panicked escape. I'm fine. Light a few eyelashes, an eyebrow, and some ghoatie. The car burned for three minutes and it's looking grim. Thanks everyone for the support, we will tear it down today and see if there's hope.

:( ... Noooooooooooo well, you can't go faster if you don;t push the limits!

Latest on Jalopnik.....
"Pat Doran, father of Liam Doran, went off at Pikes Peak today in his RS200. He's fine. Connor Harrison from MotoIQ is there crewing for Doran and Lovefab and got this shot. He tells Jalopnik that the Lovefab's NSX is possibly salvagable."

Damm...glad to head Cody is OK.

Great to hear of no (serious) injuries! Look forward to seeing the re(build)...

Interesting to see how quick such diffuses & disseminates over the interwebz nowadays...

Pretty awesome that he builds it and drives the car too. Glad he's ok, car wrecks are always a terrible thing to see. Testament to great safety equipment!

Most of you have heard that a suspension component failed on the car this morning just two turns into our first run. The resultant impact, which was followed by a massive explosion resulted in extensive damage to the car. After careful inspection of the car, we have good news. And we have bad news. The bad first; we have officially withdrawn from the 2013 Pikes Peak International Hillclimb. The repairs required to have a competition-ready car by tomorrow's Qualifying are just not possible. The good news; the core of the car is salvageable and was relatively unharmed. Body, Aero, and suspension all did their jobs of absorbing impact/shedding themselves before chassis damage could occur. So that being said, we are staying a couple of days to offer assistance to other teams. First up, exhaust repairs on Pat Doran's RS200 after his big off this morning."

Sucks to hear, but very cool of them to stick around and help.

Actually I talked with him the other day and he mentioned it was I believe 80 or 90 percent salvageable. Gotta replace panels mostly.
