I recently bought a 91 NSX. It has 22k miles, driven less than 5k over the last 5 years. Sometimes when I shift I doesn't seem as if the clutch entirely disengages ( rough ). The tranny is not in snap ring range. I was wondering if it might be the clutch master cylinder plungers have lost their shape and are not always providing enough pressure to disengage the clutch. Maybe a new or rebuild the existing might solve.

Any thoughts.

If that clutch has 22k miles, it wouldn't suprise me if that is the problem.

Make sure to check your fluid level in the master cylinder.

The fluid level is right the fluid is dirty, It makes me think it needs to be rebuilt.

Any thoughts.

Don't assume. Just suck out as much dirt fluid as possible from the top and wipe out the sludge. Then flush fresh fluid through the system till it comes out clean and see what happens. It’s a 30 min job.

This is why it should be flushed periodically.
