Hi all.

I have some problems and I am sorting thru data. I have some time as I am waiting for the winter to die down so I can haul my car off to be worked on.

Here are the issues.

I have a 91 with short gears, 4.5 r&p, RM clutch with over 20k miles, not sure about the flywheel. Sorry. Mark B. installed everything so I am thinking that everything was done properly.

Anyway. Previous owner used 90 shot o nos. He ran thur all gears @wot.

My car will sometimes have trouble getting into 4th from 3rd when I am at wot or am shifting at hi RPMs. I push clutch all the way down and put it into gear and begin to release the clutch and it grinds. I was thinking that the syncros were going. All other gears seem to be fine.

Here is the newest problem though. My car, when cold, will not allow me to place her into gear. It literally is stuck. I push the clutch in with the car on or off and try to select a gear. She literally will not slip into gear. After messing with it for 20 minutes I can finally get it into gear but I am pretty much forcing it. After a few minutes of driving she is fine and snicks into gear ok but the box does not feel as smooth as my dads which is the stock 91 set up.

I know the RM clutch is gone. It releases late and feels like it is never going to engage at the top of the throw. So I need a new clutch and flywheel.

I am not sure about problem number 2.

It seems to make sense that it is something other than the clutch. No?

If this is the case I need clutch, syncros, flywheel, etc. plus tranny work and parts.

I was thinking at this point a 6 speed tranny conversion might become an option.

Any thoughts or opinions?

Anyone does this conversion or had this same problem? If so what do you do to fix it?

Thanks in advance for any input!
