Ok, so I'm in the middle of swapping out the slave cylinder, master cylinder and the rubber line to the slave cylinder. I was able to work on it tonight and I'm installing the slave back on the car.

QUESTION: Is there an easy way to locate the "ball end" of the slave cylinder onto the "bowl end" of the mating part? I can't tell if it's mated properly because of the rubber cover over the entire assembly.

By the way, my slave cylinder failed and there was NO leak on the ground because... the rubber piece on the slave failed and all the fluid was captured by the same rubber enclosure that is preventing me from seeing if the ball end is seated in the bowl end.

u can squeez the boot so u can feel the ball matching the dip on the fork.

way i do it.if its not lined up, when u push the clutch the piston will pop out and fluid all over the place

mmm.. I will try that:). I typically swing the ball end out of the boot. I can tell it is seated becausae it takes pressure to align the mounting bolts. Make sure you grease the cup, for nice silent operation;).

The whole time I'm pressing on this thing and trying to get the bolts in, I'm thinking "I hope this is seated so I don't have to do this again". Not thinking, "the reason it's so hard to get the bolts on is because I'm compressing the slave cylinder so it has to be mounted right". Duh.

Thanks Larry!
