tim, I am not following. what are you buying (materials), what are the costs of said materials, and what hourly rate are they charging you? I am troubled (as it sounds like you are also) about the $3600. You should not pay for someone's inability to do something - which is why I hate paying for any service industry function by the hour. Paying by the job rewards the worker for getting something done faster.
