Hi everyone,

I'm new to the board and a long time NSX fan. I take my honda civic to a honda specialist and he tells me that the clutch in an NSX only last about 15,000k miles, I find that very hard to believe but he claims that he drove and worked on at least 50 NSX's. Just wondering how many miles or on your original clutch.

Clutch life on the NSX varies tremendously. Most of the clutches for the '91-96 five-speed seem to last around 40-50K miles. Granted, a few only last 25-30K miles or less, and others last 90-100K miles or more, but the majority tend to fall into this range.

I'm not sure about the clutches for '97-02 six-speed, but I seem to recall hearing that they last longer than the ones for the five-speed. They should, since they're more expensive.

Two suggestions:

1. Get familiar with the NSX FAQ (answers to Frequently Asked Questions), where many such questions including this one are answered. (Look at the "Clutch" section under the "Troubleshooting" heading.)

2. If and when you get an NSX, don't take it to this particular mechanic.
