Clutch Pedal - Rubber Stopper Missing/Replacement

I was enjoying what I call a nice holiday drive (I don't know what it is but for some reason I especially enjoy riding in the NSX when it's a holiday) and noticed some peculiar behavior with my clutch on the return swing back up. It seemed that it was slightly and I mean slightly getting stuck during the last inch or two on the return. I thought it might be the tread on the bottom of my shoe snagging the pedal so at the next stop, I took off my shoe (love sock driving) and tried it again and it still kinda felt caught up in the same spot. When I got home, I went under there to take a closer look (back cramping up) and checked for clutch fluid on the rubber seal of the firewall where the clutch comes out, if the springs were all in tact and fastened properly, etc. and everything looked good. But then I discovered that there was a tiny little rubber stopper missing that my brake has but not my clutch and they looked like the same part. It's a dime-sized, t-shaped rubber pad, part 32, (there are actually 2 on the clutch pedal and I was missing the lower one) that strikes what I think is either a cruise control sensor or clutch depression sensor (or both) and without the rubber stopper, the sensors control arm was getting caught on the edge of the hole that is designed to house the stopper itself, thus the tiny snag. Fortunately, the 2 don't line up where the control arm goes through the hole and still functions without it, but in my case was getting caught along the hole edge nonetheless. It must have fell off one day (maybe my size 12's knocked it off) and got vacuumed up! Anyways, I ordered two from the dealer for a whopping $2.69ea and in the mean time I stuck one of those tiny round rubber thingies that go on the bottom of electrical appliances to prevent surface scratches and needless to say, the snag is now gone, and hopefully permanently gone when I drop the oem stopper in. If you happen to experience this, just check first for your stopper.

Just got bit by this. What sucks is I had the same thing happen to me for the brake pedal so I knew exactly what it was when I found it sitting on my floormat. When I replaced the brake pedal one, I ordered an extra for the clutch since I knew this would happen... sadly time passed and I lost it :frown: Anyways, thank you good sir- made it a quick search with your part number reference and diagram.

This happened to me, too on the brake pedal. Popped the new plastic one in, and I think I'm good. Back hurt too much to worry about the clutch - but I did order four of them.

You should have put it in bc it would have only took 10 seconds to do... now you'll have to get under there again one day! And yes, it is excruciating to be upside down in that little hole with no room to move your arms.
