In two weeks, we replace an OEM clutch. I've studied the procedure in the SM. To perfect the job some questions:

1. Does the header (aftermarket) have to come out?
2. Step 32 is not clear to me, it says: 'Remove the release fork fromt the clutch release hanger, then hang the release fork on the clutch housing.'
How to release and how to hang?
3. clutch alignment shaft. Will an old main shaft of an NSX gearbox be sufficient?
4. Do the splines of the main shaft where the clutch friction discs are running on need to be greased? I'm temped to use a small amout of UREA high-temp grease. No?

Thanks!

1. No
2. Disassemble the slave from the clutch and pull the release fork outwards. You will feel it clearly when it snaps out of it's position. You can't get it out of the bellhousing. Just let it hang loose and check if it is free while moving out the tranny (same while get it back in).
3. Yes, this works very fine.
4. Just apply a breeze of high-temp grease and put the discs on to get them greased inside. They should move easy on the spline. Wipe away any excess of grease.
