Clutch Fork removal - HOW ???

Yesterday me and two fellow NSX-friends removed the engine from my car.
The removal of the eninge turned out to pretty straight-forward and was completed even faster than I expected for a first time.

However, after that, my good friend Rene and me tried to remove the transmission from the engine and could not get any further than about 3/4 of separation of the transmission and engine.

Afterwards, I read here on Prime that you should remove the clutch fork.

The question now is, HOW do you remove the clutch fork.
I went back to the place where the car is but I could not see how the clutch fork is attached or how to remove it.
It is stuck very firmly (transmission and engine are still separated for about 3/4").
I expected to see some kind of bolt that I should remove to take it out, but I don't see anything. The manual just states that you 'remove it', but it does not tell me how.

So, HOW do I do remove the clutch fork?

Pull it:). Some of them can be a little tough. It will come out about 1-2", (you cannot completely remove it prior to separation) then separate the trans from the engine.

Hi Larry,

Thanks for the quick response.
At this moment, the fork is literally completely stuck.
Should I screw the transmission case back in place?? Am thinking this might be the reasons why it is stuck so hard.

If the trans is moved away from the engine, push it back in, then release the fork.

Larry, Thankx Again

Moved the transmission case back up against the engine, fork comes out, then the transmission pulled straight up.

Anothere reason found to READ the manual first before attempting to do work. Could have saved both of us about 2-3 hours

The service manual is your friend. :)

Just wondering, did you sell your engine?
