Whenever I drive over a bumpy road, the rear of the car makes some type of clunking / rattling nosies. I thought it was the hatch or trunk, so I drove with both of them up and same thing. I check under the pass. side fender, inspected the suspension (TEIN RA), and looked for anything loose...however I can't find a solution.

Does anyone have any clue what else I can check? TIA...

Check the sway bar assembly. The driver's side connection was loose and it was making clanky noise. However, after tightened it (thanks to Zahntech) the noise went away.

Good luck.

Thx, however it sounds like something is hitting against the body panel or something, kind of like a thumping sound

I have a rattle sound like that too!! Mine is coming from the driver side rear, and sounds like something is loose (kind of like if a bolt was loose and letting a piece of aluminum rattle, or if a rock was stuck in the heat shield). I have been under the car and checked all of my bolts, and they are all tight. The sound infuriates me since I hear it whenever I go over a bump, or if I am driving next to a wall with my window down, the sound bounces off of the wall and I hear it constantly.

Is your sound like that?

It can also be the brake pad assembly...they can rattle if the springs are not fresh.

How can you check this? Is this a constant sound, or just when hitting bumps?

Only on bumps (drives me nuts too). I have yet to fix it myself, but there is a thread on this *somewhere*.

The easiest way to check this is to replace the springs. I'm sure they can be tested, but it that effort will probably cost more than replacing them.

Check the rear shock tower bolts in the engine compartment......

i checked and checked everything, no luck....i think it might be the engine cover...

It's strange, after 50MPH the sounds goes away

On my car, the hinges of the engine cover had some play. Putting some spring washers into the hinges got rid of the "slop" and thereby the rattle that had developed over time.

i just drove with the engine cover open and same sounds are being emitted. So it's not the engine cover, hatch or trunk

Yes, it sounds like that, and today i fixed the problem :) If you have coilovers, then I think that may be your problem.

On top of the coilover is a nut, that nut was loose...after i tightened it, fixed everything
