I have a charger for my Maxon SP-100U radio, but it is not the original and I want to make sure the specs are within range. Let me know if this will work ok or let me know what the specs are for the charger if you have one.

On the charger, it says:

TEKK Model

C-200
AC/DC Adaptor
Input AC 120V, 60Hz 10W
Output 16V 100mA
Caution: Only charge nickel cadmium rechargable batteries

Thanks!

Here's how you can find out if the charger works:

1. Turn the radio on and leave it on for at least 24 hours. At this point the battery should be fully drained.

2. Recharge the radio for 12-14 hours.

3. See if the radio now works. If the radio works, the charger is working. If the radio doesn't work, the charger is not working.

Ken,

I think Donymo is asking about compatability, not if it is functional.

I have the Maxon SP-100U radio also, with a charger. I will check the voltage/current rating on my charger this evening and let you know.

Although you may get another response by then

Exactly...thanks Larry

Donymo,

I checked on the charger last evening.

The model is CA1410D
The ratings are:
DC14.5
60ma

I am not really sure if the radio can handle the 1.5 volt difference or not. I did not check on the "type" of battery I have, but to be sure I would contact Maxon to verify.

LarryB
