has been turning on with no problems, recently it will not turn on at all. radio, turn signals, instrument cluster works, but not the ccu

I've checked the 15A fuse near the clutch pedal, it looks to be fine (not burnt)

is there anywhere else I can look before I might have to pull out the whole CCU?

thanks in advance

def. send it to Briank. He's fixed two for me so far.. fast turn around!!!

Brian is right. He "walked" me thru the whole removal procedure. I couldn't have done it without him and the tech on-line manual, on Prime.

Getting the vents out were difficult. Took me about 45 sweaty minutes to get it out! (But, I am a girl...so who knows?!)

My unit did the same thing as yours. Brian repaired the leaking "caps" within the unit and sent it back to me...all in one week!
That was 2 -3 years ago, and it still works perfectly!

Good luck, and take your time removing the unit or you will crack the facia in the area of the ashtray.

"Damaging the console fascia releasing the vent clips is the biggest item."

That was the biggest concern for me...........just be patient and take your time.

My CCU is acting up also- I have had part-time AC for a few weeks. It only blows when it wants to. I hope to get Briank to repair it as he straightened out my Bose speakers after someone else had screwed them up, so he has skills.

I second the cautionary on being careful and not cracking the fascia around the ash tray - some idiot at a car stereo store cracked mine while removing the head unit. Fortunately, I have a dash kit (that still needs to be installed) that will cover the cracks.

I recommend reviewing the step-by-step instructions for console removal that Briank has kindly posted - just click on the hyperlink below his signature to find them.

Just a small warning for the DIY'ers: Changing the caps is only half of the job. That's also not the only thing Brian does. Leaking caps do no good to the board. So don't wait too long as soon as you have a sign of malfunction. I expect every CCU to fail after about 12-15 years.
