Hello.
My clima control unit begans to fail several days ago. Yesterday after disasembling I discover that capacitors 14,19 and 44 looses the liquid, and the line from D3 to the green connector disapears.
Once the components are changed everything runs almost normal except that now, I can ear a beep every time a button is pressed (I owns since just two months ago, but I don't remember that beep). The really important is that the button indicators lights remain lighted even with no key inserted.
Any idea??
Thanks from Spain

You need to replace ALL your caps and repair any damaged traces.

Caps can fail by shorting out, which is likely to be your problem.

Beside de failed caps the traces are very dirty.I'll check again.
Also suspect that the zener diode is damaged. Thanks for your reply

The beep is normal, what did you do before the trace burned off the board?
Nothing. Latlely the systems fails and fade out after 2 minutes or less. When I open it, was when I discover that the track blows. Whe I change teh stereo I'll take a closer look

You have damage that I have never seen on a CCU board. Did you change ZD1 and D3?
Just D3. Everything its ok, but the button lights never stops. Just the button, not the whole display.
I'll remove it again in few days as soon as the new radio arrives. Will post pics of the ccu where the components where replaced

ZD1 is not orginal so it must have been worked on before you got it.

I have never seen a CCU with the button lights stuck on so I wounder what else is messed up.
Youre right some one else works on it. Do you have the zener's original reference?

ZD1 is marked 27 XXX P, the XXX looks like a date code.

I would not be too worried about the zener diode it looks like it’s just in the circuit as protection from over voltage. The trace should not have burnt that trace unless some one changed the clock fuse to more then 7.5 amps.
