Clear Bra question

Hi everyone! Just purchased a 2003 black/black and loving it.

This car has a clear bra on the front bumper and also half way up the hood and finders. Has anyone had any experience on removing the clear bra and if I leave it, is there future paint fading concerns?

Also, I have a slight wind noise from the rubber around the drivers side. There seems to be a small crease in the rubber strip. Is that rubber easy to replace or is there a more simple solution?

Thanks for all the postings...everyone was very helpful in my purchase decision.

Hi Mike - welcome to Prime, and congrats!!

I would leave the clear bra on, unless the clear bra is worn and needs to be replaced.

As for paint fading, there are no definitive proof either way that this occurs. I suppose it depends a lot more on your climate, and whether it's garaged or not.

I'm probably going to get my NSX a clear bra once I get the affected panels re-painted in the future, once there are enough touch ups.

If you have it removed, I would have a shop do it that deals with clear bra. If it was well done and looks good, I'd leave it on. I have my entire front end clear bra'd. They covered the entire hood and fenders so there is no line across the middle of the hood. They also did rocker panels,a-pillars,mirrors,door cups, air intakes on both sides. It sure helps. Especially when you hit hail on the road on way to NSXPO and do a ditch spin. Not one scratch.
