So I think I've determined that whoever had my car dyed the front marker lights amber. I think it looks like 6 pounds of baked ass. I plan on pulling them and trying to clean that crap off and make them clear once again. Any idea on what was sprayed on my lights? I didn't even know they made stuff to do that. Anyone know what will take it off?

Thanks,

- Kyle

I can almost guarantee that it is on the outside. I would try some paint thinner on a very small portion to see if it comes off easily. If it is some ultra-tough industrial stuff, you may just need to sand them down with various grits of sand paper and then polish with plastic polish.

Lol. Hugh... I swear dude... The "dye" or whatever it is... is definatly on the outside of the lens. I noticed this crap was also on my headlight glass. I guess somebody was going to paint the tires orange next. If I look back around the side of the lens... I can just start to see where it becomes clear again... I'll try to pop them out tonight and then I'll shoot a pic for you guys.

They sell spray on tint in orange color for glass/lens so I'm guessing that's what it is. Hey I was right afterall :)

I want to buy spray on YELLOW tint for a project. Any idea where to get it?
Thanks,
Steve

try your local crafts store. i used some orange paint for some lenses on my integra years ago. it is made specifically for stained glass.
we scuffed up the lens with sandpaper and cleaned it off, then sprayed on several layers of the paint until you get the color/darkness you want, then sand down with finer grits to smooth out, finally wax or polish the surface to make it shine. I used Plastx(?) for the final step. HTH.
