I'd suggest buying a fiberglass repair kit. By lining up the crack as best as possible, and reinforcing with a patch of fibver and resin, you should be able to save it.
If it is "mangled" heat will allow you to straighten it and take out the "white" stuff that occurs as a result of it being bent or folded "although" it changes the temper of the (abs material). Therefore if you hit it again it WILL crack vs's bend .As for a crack ,there is a 2 part black bumper repair material available and well known by auto repair shops (works great and sets in 60 seconds)be sureyou are prepaired for it to set. Then simple file/sand or carfully dremel off the exess. This repair stuff bonds to anything and is flexable so it will not crack. The stuff we usedf was in a diposable two cylinder "2 parts" that mixes the plunger is depressed.Nice stuff.
Hey good Luck!!
I found something called "Plastic Welding System" at the local NAPA auto parts store. 2 part plunger, mix and apply. It worked well repairing the crack, now I have to sand and repaint. Luckily the crack was a clean break, and not a bend&warp situation. Thanks for all your advice.
You may want to try dye rather than paint after the repair. I use Kiwi black leather dye in the 2.5 fluid ounce bottle with applicator. It is great for touching up the scrapes and gray scratches with the spoiler on the car; the applicator is the same width as the spoiler.
