Hi - Here's a link to the YouTube clip from my in-car video of one stage of the 3-day, 1000-mile Chihuahua Express:

On the next stage after this one, on Day 2, I broke the clutch. :frown: We were standing first in class, so it was a sad moment. I must confess, however, that there were many much faster drivers than I in the higher classes.

Shad is scheduled to start the autopsy tomorrow when I drop the car off.

I had replaced the standard clutch a long time ago with one from Comptech, and then recently replaced the clutch with one from SoS. That's the one you see in the photo - very unusual failure. Chris is helping me get the new double disk carbon unit so Shad can install it. It's great to have those two knowledgeable guys on this!

Your shifting is weird. Really noticeable at 3:41ish and and right before it broke. It seems like you don't know which gear to be in sometimes. Not trying to make it sound bad or hurt your feelings. Just what I saw.

You're exactly right - I was finding the shifting to be increasingly "notchy" and was trying to gently ensure that I had the right gear. I put it down to the heavy duty Motul oil in the transaxle, but I now think there was something going on with the clutch.
