A day off from court came in handy today since I was able to take a little road trip to catch the peak of the cherry blossoms around the Tidal Basin in Washington, D.C. I went down a night early to grab some midnight shots of a few of the monuments. Another one of our members coincidentally also made the trip but he is still on the road so I will post up a couple of photos first just to keep my streak going..........

Gorgeous pics, Robert. Your pics of the WWII Memorial are stunning.

The last several times I visited the Memorial, it was always packed (even in the evening) and I'm pleasantly surprised that you were able to capture very few people in your shots.

The pics of the cherry blossoms have the FDR Memorial in the background?

I wonder who that other Prime member was

Given Easter weekend and a busy weekend for me, I 'm not sure when I will get to go through the photos taken Friday. Bob, we just returned from D.C. at 1:30am!

Here is a sample of one that looks strikingly similar to one that Bob posted above that I took 3 years ago on my first visit to Tidal Basin

Beautiful pics Bob. I always love the national monuments & buildings around the DC cherry blossoms. That is the backdrop for much of the beauty.

If you are available, on the 13th of this month, give me a call and we can go down and see/photo almost 3000 cherry blossoms in Newark's Branch Brook Park Festival. Many, many varieties.

WOW!! I hope my son who is at college in New Zealand with his fancy photog equipment, can one day shoot this kind of work. Why would you want to represent as council when you can be having this much fun! Love your work Bob.

Absolutely amazing shots. I live just 30 mins from DC and do semi-pro photography yet, I didn't make it up this year to take any photos of the cherry blossoms. I'm still outstanding on getting my but up there after midnight when everyone is gone to take some great photos. Ugh...
