Check out this undercarraige.

Not original undercarriage. What has been done here is someone polished selected parts eg battery tray, parts of control arms etc. it's nice, but make no mistake it is not original

Not original because it does not have the original finish or because you think they replaced parts? I think everything is original but polished and clean. Looks nice.

I think they are original parts, but my point is that the undercarriage is clean but not necessarily factory correct

Well they did a fantastic job on the rear undercarraige. The cat shields look to be out of the box. I'm quite impressed.

he took the stuff off and high polished the alum and the front battery tray he had chromed thats beyond high polish LOL

look clean and minty but not for me. as you never see any of that stuff while driving or parked its a little overboard

^^^ this... I dont see the point in "collecting" a car. Sure it's worth more but you're only saving it for the next person that will actually drive it and use it as it was intended... I love seeing my car clean (especially since its black) like anyone else but driving the car is the really fun part.

Drive about (2500 to 3000 miles a year
No soda Blast or chrome
Suspension is pure Aluminum & Engineering I just had to polish it (plus long winters in Wisconsin)
Use Rolite ..sure Flitz. Mothers, etc etc could do the same (many times)
I would love to go back in time to the factory to see NSX in the original condition.
Got caught in two rain storms last year... Went to therapy ...and I am ok now ..LOL
Yea..I get teased and joked around with the other local NSX owners.. that I have problem..and it is great fun.
Enjoy your NSX everyone ...yea they are a beautiful car

Could dry ice blasting have similar results?

Dry ice should leave a finish similar to stock with little shine. Soda would be similar as well.

My guess is some of the parts may have been tumble polished, the battery tray is definitely high polish. Personally I like the tumbled look and it requires little maintenance - I did my rear undercarriage about 6 years ago and I need to do the front sometime.
