Check CA smog result history for free

I was surprized to find out that the California DMV web site lets you check the smog test history of any car by just entering the VIN or license number.

Wow, that's cool. I looked up the plates of my first car ('79 Celica) and was surprised to see that the car passed smog as recently as 1998!
