The owner's manual instructs you to jump start a dead battery through the terminals in the engine compartment. Is it ok to charge the battery this way too?
I bought a Craftsman battery charger and it says you can do it either way. I think the safest way is to disconnect the car battery before charging.... better safe than sorry.
