Changing out the springs on the RA

How do you change out 12lb springs to the 10lb spings on the RA's? In particular, how do you keep the shaft still as you loosen the nut on the top? This is of course other than the option of using a vice grip to sheer the shaft.

what he said. Do not use a vise grip. Once you scratch that shaft you have a possibility of sheering the seal inside the shock and that leads to a dead shock.

The piston rod has a wrench flat on it. Use this to prevent the rod from spinning in the shock and possibly damaging seals.
