Hi I was looking to change the vac. hoses in the engine compartment. I saw alot of pics with cars that had them changed. I was wondering if its a straightforward procedure of pulling them off and putting the new ones on.thanks for the help

Paul,
It's a pretty simple procedure. I used an X-acto knife to make a slice on the ends of the vacuum lines in order to ease the removal process. This was better than trying to pull the hoses off by hand. Do one hose at a time. You don't want to take a bunch off at once and not remember where they were connected to. Also, pay attention to any in-line valves that there may be. There is an arrow on one way valves and some of the vacuum lines to indicate the direction of air flow. Instead of the usual red vacuum lines that everyone uses I was able to find a bright silver made by a company called Thermal Flex, Inc. Thermal Flex makes their hoses from a durable, high-temp silicone and they even say they can match any color sample (even metallic finishes). I found the silver lines at Motorsport Warehouse in Tucson, AZ for about $3 per foot and are available in different sizes. It turned out really nice. There is an ad for Thermal Flex in November's issue of Sport Compact Car on page 167 if you need their location. Good luck.

Hey Paul,
Do you have a pic of your car by anychance? I was looking to do the WW front and rear, but I have never seen a black NSX with the WW rear! Just curious to see how it looks! And good luck on your hose replacement.

Be sure you use vacuum hoses to replace vaccum hoses and high pressure hoses to replace fuel lines. Some hoses are fine at low possitive pressure, but will crimp under vaccum. Most of the higher quality silicon products will be fine and the swap is easy if you are methodical.

Hi Thank you for the help. I changed my hoses last weekend. I ordered silver ones directly from Hose Techniques looks great imo
But i think i may have screwed up because i changed the hose that runs from behind the fuse box to the throttle body. I'm not sure if i was supposed to? It smells like a fuel gas line.so i was wondering if i should change it back to the old hose.thanks again for the help.

PAUL,
I'm pretty sure that if it were a fuel line you replaced it would have leaked a little fuel out when you disconnected it. From what I have seen the fuel lines have a crimped connector on the end and also say fuel line on the hose. Double check this with the hose you removed.
