Hey, I'm by no means new to the site, but i never post. I'm starting this thread to introduce myself and give you guys updates on this suspension.

A company located in the mid-west, GTMotoring, has been working to develop a coilover suspension for the NSX, and several other applications. This is from their blog...

"GT Motoring has been working with a top level Japanese damper manufacturer and Hypercoil ( Hyperco) racing springs to develop a line of street and racing coilovers. Here is a sneak peak. Colors and specs are not final. This is mearly an R&D set pictured. stay tuned for details and applications…."

I will update this thread with the actual photos when i receive the coilovers for the NSX. They will be going on a 94 NSX. I'll be sharing install pics as well, and initial driving impressions. the NSX coilover will wear 10k springs in the front and 12k in the rear. the shock bodies will be made of aluminum. for durability and weight purposes.

I'd be interested in any and all feedback from the NSX community. I should have the coilovers here by May 2009 and installed very shortly after. Pricing is not set in stone, but it should be very competitive with the TEIN monoflex (they have similar specs).

Specs (pending)
-16 way adjustable
-aluminum shocks
-10k front 12k rear (by hyperco)
-pillow ball mounts included

STAY TUNED!

I can tell you that 10k front and 12k rear is a bad combo for the NSX. If it's for the street, then that's way too stiff. If it's for the track - let's just say I hope you enjoy drifting.

When I had my Comptech Pros I tried a lot of different combo springs front and rear on the NSX. As a result, I have 1000#, 800#, 700#, 600#, 500#, 450#, and 350# springs sitting in my garage.

Best track setup was the 1000/800.
Best track/street setup was 600/500 (10k/8k) - biased more for the track than the street.
Right now I am testing 450/350 (8k/6k) on my JRZ dampers. Great street ride and will find out how they do at the track next month.

I believe that the new KWs use 350/350.

The NSX like a very stiff front end and looser rear end (some people even run no rear sway bar) - your 10k/12k does the exact opposite.

Just my $0.02 from a lot of on track testing over the last couple of years.

yah! greg and jae are good people. they are branching way outside the s2000 world! hahaha...

check it!... www.gtmotoring.com

no nsx project for them just yet. i'd love to pick up an NSX but there's a lot more left for me to do with my current project.

i can't wait to see what these coils will do for this NSX!

wow! that's a lot of info. the springs right now are testing. i'm gonna forward this info on to greg and jae. thanks for sharing!

I concure with the captain.

There has to be some reason behind them using 10/12 combo. Maybe the reason is that most of the aftermarket suspension components are all made at the same place  Most all know how that story goes..

I have the same type set up now and have no problems. Took some time to dial it in though like any coilver setup I have ever had.
