after seeing some carbon fiber wheels... what do you guys think about wrapping wheels with that 3m material... then clear coating it for the shine???

cf look (somewhat) and no need to worry about cracking???

for pic reference... its probably real cf though

Let me elaborate on Malibu 's no. If you put that 3m stuff on and go for a drive, the first time the
Wheel gets heated up the stuff will bubble up...lift or possibly catch fire. Neat looking show rim,
Not good for any type of driving

I do some work with carbon... now I have not seen this 3M material in person, but if it is pourous, you cannot just clear coat over it and expect it to be smooth. I lay my carbon, couple coats of resin with sanding in between and then clearcoat it.

Just wanted to clarify that the carbon fiber on that pic is NOT a wrap. This is REAL carbon fiber and the process is much more complex than just wrapping with a film. Hope this helps or answers your question.
