I think it looks great. I am thinking about getting one and painting it but leaving the vents carbon fiber.

SkyGuy - That is the only way to do it as far as I am concerned. That looks totally cool. The hood looks beautiful painted to match the car.

No flames because it looks good, but it would have looked sick if it was painted with the center left CF. JMHO

looks great. Do you have any problems with the air trying to pick up the hook or move it around? Will I need hood pins to prevent any problems? What is the weight difference betweent the stock and Seibon hood?

thank you

You definitely did the right thing painting it. Carbon Fiber is a great material because of its strength and light weight. However it is ugly as sin. Having exposed CF on your car is just as ricey as light up washer nozzles and under car neon.

I like it, I have a red 95 and was wondering what that hood would look like painted. Where did you get your hood from and what did it cost??

I think bare CF is quite beautiful, actually. Comparing bare CF to non-functional "rice" mods is a bit extreme.

Anyway, I like the color-matched hood as well. Looks more subtle. Personally, I would have left the vents in CF for a nice contrast. Something like this:

i am glad to see others share the same opinion. i just replaced my prelude hood with a carbon fiber hood. i plan on painting the hood when i get my body work and paint done. all my "friends" tell me i am crazy. they ask me whats the point of getting a carbon fiber hood. i tell them, 1) a carbon fiber hood and stock hood is about the same price once you ship it to hawaii, and 2) i want a sleeper look.

you did the right thing!

It seems that it is hard to give an honest opinion from me because the only pics shown with the CF exposed the headlights weren't in it and it looked funny anyway.
Having said that, I too would've left the scoops CF so it would show that that is the material it's made of.
I bought the SOS single scoop flavor and left it unpainted. I think it looks better. IMO
Just need to get some CF headlight covers to complete the look.

Thanks guys.
Here's a couple recent fall pix......

No problem with air whatsoever. No pins needed. I think the weight difference is small. But it looks kewl!
