I tried to take out the center vent after taking out the clock. I have the service manual with me, but how do I get a flat screw to reach the clips that are holding the center vent?? I don't see any space where the flat screw can slide in..

I can see from the following picture that the clips can be lifted up, but if I were to use a plastic ID (or something that I can slide under), will the plastic ID be strong enough to lift up the clip??

I use either a credit card or a plastic screwdriver to avoid scratching the finish
