Hey Guys,

Due to our spring like weather in Totonot I decided to take take the NSx to work on Froday. After I started it up (1st time since Novenember) I got a CEL. I took the car anyways and didn't drive under boost. Had a buddy plug in his scan tool and the following code appeared.

PO116 Engine Coolant Temp curcuit range performance problems.

Any idea as to why this CEL is on. Could it be due to the car sitting to long. This is the first winter for the car after the Compltech S/C install.

I tucjed her back away and will take it to Acura in the Spring. Hust wanted to make sure it is safe to drive.

TIA

Johnny

Either the sensor is giving unexpected resistance values or there is trouble in the wiring between the sensor and the ECU. The FSM should have some baseline values to check against at various temps. Check the sensor resistance through the harness. The car will run rich to protect the engine if the ECU can't tell the coolant temp.

Make sure you check your coolant level. The sensor will not sense "air" temp, only coolant temp. If it is low, you will get false readings out of the sensor. If it is low that is the first problem to fix.

Have you noticed any strange behavior of the temp gauge lately?
