CCU Repair

okay..what's a CCU? If it were part of a bike I might know

Thanks, but I'm not everyone and you are right, not on a bike unless it's a big decker or wing and then they are simply called deflectors:smile:...... BTW - out on the bike yesterday in Ancaster area and parts of the cruise we did - colors are now changing and were late this year and still lots of leaves on the trees.........maybe they need a CCU?

quick fix.............drive the cars faster with the vents open

I have some good News for those that need to get their CCU unit repaired.
I research this issue and it seem's that one or more of the 13 Capacitors on the CCU drys out and therefore shorts out. This cause the unit to malfunction.
I was able to get a listing of the 13 capacitors with the correct values of these capacitors that are on the CCU unit. Most folks on Prime replace the affected capacitors with excellent results, IE restoring the normal function of the CCU.
I was able to get replacement capacitors from from the US. These are high quality Panasonic aluminum capacitors that are direct replacement for those on the CCU unit. I also found a Shop in Mississauga that will replace these capacitor using the correct equipment for a reasonable cost per unit.

Through the NSXCC we are now able to repair CCU Locally, assuming there are no problems with the traces on the board itself. I have enough components to repair 10 CCU.
I have NOT finalized the pricing of the repair just yet, however, it's going to be between $75-$100 per CCU. So all those that are interested in getting their CCU Repaired..email me to make arragements for pick-up.

Just replacing the capacitors fixes very few CCU's

Brian, I know that your work is second to none when it comes to repairing these CCU units. From the research that I have done it seems these capacitor's leak and therefore create the problem on the units. I'm not saying that some board may not have faulty traces, and will need additional work.

Personally,I'm a bit worried about shipping these boards down South, hence the reason I started to look for someone locally that can repairs these units. I'm willing to give this method a try in order to provide our members with a choice. If for any reason that this does not work, I will be securing your services.
