With Fernandez and Rahal(?) gone it sure appears that open wheel road racing is prob.done for this year.

Like it or not, Open roadracing is unified now, too bad we may have to wait until next year to find ot what tracks will remain on schedule and hopefully T.George won't screw this up as well.

I hope they still run something at the Long Beach Gran Prix since I have $700.00 worth of non-refundable plane tickets

only 1 more hour and I'm off to catch the plane out to CA. I just found out that I'll be getting a ride in the pace car too.....should be fun! Those PPG ladies really know how to throw the cars around! I'll take lots of pics becuase who knows, it may be the last CART opener ever.

I'll be working at Long Beach GP on Sat and Sun under Race Management. If you have a chance, look me up in G17 (infield half way behind the pit).

I just watched CART Qualifying live on my computer. The sound was awesome and the picture was great even when it was zoomed to fit the whole 21" monitor.
CART is not dead yet.

I was there Friday, and Champcar looks like it is still breathing. It should be a great entertaining weekend with solid support races, and a convention center full of tricked out cars and SUV's.

Aaron did you see those 26" in the DUB booth!!!!!!!!

Kumho has the tires to go with them.

THANKS 2 TAJ

Hey Taj,

Thanks for showing me around the pit area and access to grandstand 17 on Sun. I didn't know Tom Cruise was gonna be there. It was cool to see the celebs out in the grandstand.

How can I get a gig under Race Management next year? PM me.

P.S. Give your lovely wife a kiss from me. :p :D

It’s my pleasure. You must have taken some really nice pictures at the grand stand and at the pit entrance. Did you have a chance to take some photos in the Victory Circle? I apologize for not giving you the grand tour; hopefully my wife was able to walk you through the pit and the garage area. If you have a chance, post some pictures on the board. See you at the track next month.

I too had a good time at the TGPLB. It looks like OWRS is already doing a better job than CART. I've been going since the beginning and can't believe the changes in Long Beach during that period - downtown is now a truly happening place. That and all the other activities ( like the Lifestyle Expo - and yes 26s are certainly amazing ) makes street course race weekends loads of fun. Maybe with time we'll all forget about CART's glory days and realize that seeing the IRL on an oval one weekend and OWRS on a street/road course on another weekend is not so bad after all.

I've got to say though that the goofy new pit stop rule deprived us of seeing a really great battle between Tracy and Junquiera.
