CAR AND DRIVER BEST STATS FOR NSX, SAFE TO OPEN, NO BOOBIES

Now these numbers are getting a little better! Still low for the "claimed HP" but at least its in the 12's now.

Not to offend those who liked the Comptech NSX, but maybe its that ugly *** wide body conversion slowing the car down! I felt pretty let down that the NSX community was represented looking like that

I think some of you guys are reading the best_run.pdf chart wrong. The 12.6/124 corresponds to the TNT Serpent 555. CTSC NSX is shown at 13.0/115 consistent with the text of the article. The "top runs" click through has the numbers Allan cited.

Thanks for finding that allan.

I don't understand why they put the 1/4 as 13.0 in the mag and when they have best runs at:

12.74 12.89 12.98

Oh well..

115MPH...those traps are good enough for low 12s

NSX did ok, considering it was outgunned engine-wise in most respects. ALL the times and speeds seemed pretty slow, and WAY below what the cars are capable of; I'd think we look at RELATIVE performance rather than ABSOLUTE...

Part of this (my inference) is that the higher-powered cars are incapable of using some of their power with street tires... environmental conditions (temp, pressure, etc) may also have

I've driven a N/A version of the Mallett 435, and it easily pulls low 12s in the quarter (comparison -- 12.8 for the SC with 759 hp / 749 lb-ft !!)

Interesting that they consider the NSX one of their favorites, mainly because of drivability/civility, but these don't count toward the final evaluation

Oh boo hoo, feel sorry for you. This is Lud's forum with his rules, not yours, so get over it. I posted something a couple of months ago that contained profanity and Lud deleted that post, like he should've, because it was my bad in the first place. Did I whine about it? Not hardly.

Not me; I don't have moderator privileges and I didn't send you an e-mail. It must have been Lud or somebody else.

Back to the original topic ..
When I watched the segment on TV this week I noticed that they all seemed to start at a point on the track where it was sloped toward the infield and those who spun the tires quickly went sideways until the tires found traction again. If you've ever launched on something other than a perfectly flat surface, you'll know you can get bent out of shape pretty quickly which may have meant more conservative launches than normal
