Cantrell Concepts

Hi All,
I am looking into modifying the air intake and the Cantrell Concepts intake hose looks interesting, does anyone have any comments on this that has it fitted ? on the FAQ it looks good but I am worried about getting caught out in the rain for example, is this really dangerous to the engine ?

Is there any real HP gain with this intake ? Any similiar alternatives that allow the stock box/filter to be used ?
