Hey,
got the brilliant idea to paint my calipers today. Had no trouble removing and preparing the front calipers, but can't seem to get the rear ones to get loose. I've removed the plastic guard and the 2 mounting bolts as well as the cotter pin and bolt for the E-brake. I also looked in the manual and there does not seem to be any additional steps. you guys have any ideas? I'd like to do this right and remove them for painting so I get the majotiry of them painted. however, I'm about to give up on the back and leave em on. Please post quickly with any thoughts.

Thanks!!!

Well, assuming you've unbolted the brake line, take a 12mm wrench and remove the two bolts holding the e-brake hanger from the caliper. Also, be sure to use a 17mm wrench and remove the e-brake spring/bolt/plate from the caliper. After that, I don't think there is much else to unbolt from the caliper to remove it.

Hope this helps!

Well, finished the front. I'm thinking maybe the backs were being held in by the brake line. I did remove the 2 bolts that secure the caliper and the plastic protector and e-brake cable. Not sure if I need to remove teh spring and pivot mechanism. If you have any thoughts, I would really appriciate it. I'm going to try this again next weekend. but for now, I'm leaving on the jacks to I can go to work this week.... but here is a pic of the front. I think they came out pretty nice. but I might need to do something to brighten up the NSX logo....

BTW, its a little more red than the orange it shows like in the pic....

Just a thought, but at the minimum it may be a good idea to inspect all brake components, and lube the slider pins with high temp grease while you have everything apart for the re-paint.
