I can't seem to latch my glass hatch. Is there an easy fix to this? Someone told me just to use my palm and firmly press on the glass. Tried it.. nothing. I sprayed the lock with WD40 to see if it does the trick but nothing also...Please help.

Thanks.

You are pressing firmly right above the latch when you are pressing down on it?

No there is a spring around the white part, I do not see in the pic, and also a clip to hold it unto the end of the cable assy. This still does not indicate to me why it will not latch though. You need to look at the assy at the base (center) of the engine bay vent.

Is the engine cover out of place or damaged?

Nope it's not damage, I will take more pictures of the knob. I just wanted to make sure the knob is ok since it costs $150 o replace.

Ok so I got to close the glass hatch...Found out I needed to buy a new Opener knob...the part number for the NSX-T is $150.00 for the knob...It's only $20.00 for the non T model.

Question, would the non T model Knob fit in a T opener Assembly?

or Would part number 74884-SL0-A01ZA fit in part number 74881-SL0-T01

Thanks for your help.

No, the parts are different, and there's a reason for the price difference. Don't cheapen out on stuff like this for your NSX, especially just to save $130. It's not something that you have to keep replacing, so just get the correct part number.

it will work. the difference is the T version has the lock inside it so someone cant open the glass if the top is off and the doors are locked.
the coupe has no lock thats the price difference.

also the T version has a little tab that doesnt turn after its locked so in reality if you pull the release lever hard enough it will open the glass its a joke of a lock

I have the T version on my 92 coupe

but OEM is always the way to go but something like that I mean who has actually used the lock on their T, I mean who really leaves their NSX with the top off anyway.

goodluck

Well, currently I am using a mini vise grip if I need to open the glass hatch pending the parts I needed to order..

Thanks Phoenix for knocking some sense into me..I just found out also that the opener assembly has different configurations for the T and Non -T model. So the $20 part may or may not work.

Thanks Nukem..very helpful thread. Will keep you updated.
