The front right lower ball joint on my 92 NSX is showing a little wear and I would like to replace it. The only part I can find listed is the entire lower assembly for about $650. Seems to make as much sense to me as remodeling your entire kitchen because your fridge is showing a little age. I can't find anything in the wiki search to show how to just replace the lower ball joint, it obviously is a seperate part and not all forged together.

Or do I really have to replace the entire lower arm assembly?

you can email me at [email protected]

Both of mine developed play somewhere north of 140k miles and I ended up replacing both full assemblies. I was told that joint is pressed into the aluminum assembly at the factory and cannot be replaced. I checked around at the time and didn't find any info to the contrary .. but I never had anyone actually try to do it. For the benefit of the NSX community, you might want to keep the old part and have someone try (I should have done that).

There is a company here in New Zealand who removes the original ball assembly with the sleeve, makes an identical custom joint and presses it back in.

I had this done on the bottom arms because they are so expensive here $6k! I paid $500 for both repaired.

I am sure someone will do it in the states.

Cheers

I thought Titanium Dave was working on a solution for this... It's going to become more of an issue as our cars age.
