Hello,

I spun a crank bearing and Acura wants me to buy a new crank and possibly block.

I made some calls and found a 2002 block, crank, rods and pistons out of an automatic for $3000.

I cannot believe my ears. This is an incredible price, but the question is, is it a 3.0L and is it compatible with my tranny and electronics in my '91?

Thanks in advance, this might be a life-saver.

All the automatics have the same 3.0-liter engine. I do not know the differences between the 252-hp automatic engine and the 270-hp manual engine, or which parts are compatible. Maybe someone else here does.

http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/ has been down for a while. If I recall correctly, the most recent model year listed is 2000. However, since it's an AT (same engine as all other year ATs), you might want to check the part number for AT and MT, when the site's back up. If they are the same, you've probably found a GREAT deal!

I suppose you could call your local Acura dealer and check parts #s, too.

No, I'm pretty sure their parts database, diagrams, and ordering information goes back to models in the late 1980's.
Oh, I'm sure they do. When I wrote "the most recent model year listed is 2000", I meant they would not have info on 2001-2003 parts (including 2002 block that Cory's considering). But since we're concerned with part numbers on an AT, any year would be fine.
