Hi All,

I am about to purchase a 1991 NSX that is out of the so-called snap-ring range.

Have there been instances that this problem occured on other vehicles?

Thanks in advance

I do not know the answer to this question but I have not seen or heard of one failing out of the designed range. If one car out of the range did fail I wonder how that would effect resale value of all early model NSX's.

If it did

If it did happen, it wouldn't affect the resale value of just the early NSXs. It would affect the resale value of all NSXs.

Very true. I wonder what Acura would do if cars out of range started to fail.

It could not happen with the cause from the snap ring range cars (the upper transmission case manufactured to the wrong tolerance). I don't know if snap rings can fail with properly manufactured transmission cases, but if it's even possible - and I'm not sure that it even is - it must be EXTREMELY rare.
