does anyone have contacts maybe in japan that can snag a kit lying around somehwere? i know they're officially discontinued... but i figured there's gotta be a new/unused kit somewhere..... preferably one with their intercooler option...

oops....MODS can this thread be moved to forced induction section?

I have recently talked to Alex(The Gruppe M rep) and he said the cooler option IS available through Dali.
Here is the link

http://www.daliracing.com/v666-5/catalog/index_browse_part.cfm?focus=2046

In his e-mail he said that it made a huge difference in intake temps.I believe he is hoping for 400 RWHP
Now you will only need the charger,LOL !!

Stacy

not looking necessarily for water/air cooler.... but gruppe m had an optoinal top mount intercooler that can be used with either their hatch/duct or a regular hatch/duct. sort of like gerry johnsons old nsx turbo setup...

John, I thought somebody claimed it, no? Maybe I shouldn't do my 02 conversion.......

You shouldn't do the '02 conversion, now that you have the 15/16 type R wheels you should do an NA1 type R clone: type R seats (status), flip ups, JDM tails, OE rear spoiler, type R steering wheel, NA1 type R suspension, lightweight battery, etc.

Make a 2600-2700lbs NA1 R clone with the type R suspension and NA bolt ons (header/exhaust)... let the wheels be your guide.

That's what I would do if I had NA1 R wheels, and stock skirts/splats/hood.

defintely agreed on that...

Damn, you're right....... I guess I need to do the seats and steering wheel next (Erick, sell me those seats, cough cough). If you have an extra set of JDM tails or can locate a set for less than new let me know......

For some reason I still want to do something about that rear diffuser, not digging it too much. I guess the 02 diffuser would kill the look, any other interesting non-02 looking options? DF said they would replace my taitec one or give me credit......

The GTROM rear diffuser looks interesting, but I was unable to get an answer on whether or not it would work with the stock NA1 rear valance. If you do decide to go for an NA1 R clone you would go back to a stock rear wing, and everything would visually even out - the OE diffuser looks fine with a stock wing, and darker JDM tail lights would offset everything quite well.

What makes this idea even more interesting is the fact that you're already quite far along your way... remove/sell the df nsxr spoiler, the df diffuser, and install the nsxr suspension, seats, and wheel instead of the cosmetic '02 conversion - the same amount, or less, scratch, resulting in a lighter car with a better suspension, and the resulting car would fit your wheels, rather than an '02 conversion with 15/16's.

I can get you a set of JDM tail lights for a good price in the next few weeks, if you're after the complete R look you would need to open up the center, with the engraved H, remove the foil, and fill it in with black (the type S and type R have a blacked out H) - perhaps Erick could help you with this process (he has removed the 'acura' from several OE tail light centers).

I also have the proper NA1 type R hood emblem I can give you next time I see you.

Cool, thanks John, i'll take the lights and the badge, let me know how much I owe you. Would putting NA1 Type R rims be wrong on a car with the 02 conversion? I don't like the way this is going, I have a feeling I may end up spending as much as you have by the time i'm finished. I'm going to go ahead with the seats, steering wheel, and the remainder of my lightweight stuff, and think about the 02 stuff some more. I might as well start a new thread and try to get some more ideas......

Guys those wheels where the first wheels before 1994. The later Mk1 NSX-R came with the blades wheels and many owners of non white NSX-R went for the silver color wheels. In many tests it was found that the larger diameter wheels offer better performance. ( a few milliseconds or whatever they are called ) The NA1 NSX-R Mk1 wheels are light and special no doubt, but they are not the only NA1 NSX-R wheels.

At the moment I am running on Type S / S- wheels as they have the same size as the blases but are lighter.

Sorry about the post hijack.

Cheers,

AR
