The resolution from the Camera phone sucked, and it was dark.

2003 NSX T with top off, you can heard the wind noise. Last night - From San Francisco to LA.

with JDM Type R Gauge set:

Starting at the 22 second of this film: From 160kph (100mph) to 260kph(162.5mph). There was still room to go, but I decided not to becaues the tires are not new, and there were cars coming up and I didn't want to pass any cars at that speed.

This car was dyno'd at 302 NA rwp before Mugen AIS.

keep in mind, the top was off, and it still eclipsed the tested top speed by Car and Driver for NA1 coupe and pre 02 T.

I was watching the vid and with all that noise thinking... "does that nut actually have the top off?" and sure enough you answered it for me. Thanks for the NSX porn.

A couple of things, next time put the microphone in the engine bay (or have the top on!). And, thanks for not wanting to pass unknowing drivers at speed on highway 5.

It's fun to do top-speed runs, just don't involve other people.

Thanks for the vid.

That is it. I'm getting headers and test pipe

wow...wind noise sounds like my car when hitting 125+ mph with top on and window all the way up .

whoah... is it safe to post it up?

for his sake, lets just say his car was on jack stands, and the wind noise... from a fan he was holding near the mic for the effect.

really, who can honestyl travel that fast with one hand on the cameraphone, and the other hand mashing the shifter. who is keeping the steering wheel straight?

Hi Vance,

We all like to play but I'm pleased to read that you dont play around others at those speeds.

Mine will hit those mph comfortably (H&S exhaust with Procar intake) with the top on, haven't tried it topless yet

Next time you should try top on and someone holding a quality video ... and get those shift lights working too!!

Keep safe and Happy

regards, Paul

Your car is sick, take it in for a check up see if the doctor can help it.

This is with Top up, much less wind noise...

I only reached about 155mph because the stretch of road was much rougher than the first "topless" run.

With top on

How did you dyno at 300hp with only headers and exhaust????

Isn't 97+ rwhp some where around 250hp stock?

Some engines are stronger than others. Some also believe that the 1997 - 2001 NA2 motors aren't as strong as the 2002+ NA2 motors.

But most importantly, different dyno's give different numbers.

My bone stock motor at about 43,000 miles made 282 bhp. Unfortunately, I didn't re-dyno the motor after installing the Anytime street exhaust and my intake but but butt dyno tells me that the car is running quite a bit stronger now.

But no doubt, Vance has a very strong example of a very fine car.

Thanks for the comment:smile:

Some Japanese publication mentioned that NSX engine output will get stronger after reaching 60k kilometer, which is about 40k miles. So extra dyno'd power is likely to happen.

As I have indicated in previous threads, I do believe NSX is under advertised simply because JDM 280hp rule. By theory, the VTEC engines should achieved 100/liter, which in my case, C32B should have around 320 to begin with. I'm not surprise to see properly maintained, mid-mileage first gen C32B dyno with strong numbers too.
