camera mount question

I was checking out the hama mount but from reading the past posts, i take it that any suction cup camera mount is forbidden at the track (specifically vir). What about the headrest mount? Will that pass track inspection?

If this is for the nsx you might have a problem with this mount because your headrest are fixed and part of the seat. Yes most tracks will not allow you to use a mount that is not mechanically fastened to the car. If the mount has any chance of coming loose and becoming a projectile they will give it a thumbs down.

The Hama suction cup mount has an additional safety "belt" you can fix at the car. At least here in Europe I never heard that these mounts are forbidden at the track - at my last two events I had no problem with it. I don't think the suction cup will be overstressed by these new tiny cameras like my Sanyo Xacti C4 with about 0.44 lbs.

Okay, I'll post this for anyone else considering the Hama Mount for the vir event next weekend. I just called and spoke to one of the tech inspectors for next weekends event at vir (12/11&12/12-2004) and the hama mount is accepted.

Not for nothing but I think the suction cup on the Hama Mount is a POS and would not trust it on the car during those hard turns where your doing some good G's. I bought a heavy duty vacuum suction cup for mine after a few times when the thing came loose during a drive.
