caliper rebuild

hi guys,
i am having difficulty reinstalling caliper pistons after a rebuild (na2 car). i've done this on other cars but they were not nearly this stubborn. even though i have everything aligned and am applying a uniform pressure, the piston does not want to slide in, just keeps on cocking to the side- i already ruined one boot seal and having few spares i want to avoid repeating the mistake.
whats the trick?

Maybe it rotates as it goes into the caliper????

or how about a burred edge that stops the assembly process/??

Lube them up really well, then use a 2x4 to keep them from blowing out and run an air hose into the banjo bolt hole and let'r'rip and the boot will balloon up over the piston. Helps to have a friend there, but I did my own with one arm and a lotta patience... Good luck!
