Caliper rebuild question

I have my calipers almost torn apart.
The last couple of questions I have are:

Is it necessary to take apart the rear piston internals - it doesn't look like here are any gaskets or service that these need,
Also looks like the might be loaded and be a challenge to put back together:

My other question is also about the rears - can the roller bearing for the parking brake be removed?

TIA as always - Al

A full service involves removing the internals and cleaning, but you're right- there are no gaskets. It's just a circlip to remove and it all comes out, but it is spring loaded. As for the parking bearing, no it is not removable. According to Kaz, the way you clean it is to spray with cleaner, spin the bearing, and dump out. Repeat until the cleaner that dumps out is clear. Then, just dry and re-lube.

There are two special tools for disassembling that.

07914-SA500001 Right Angle Snap-ring Pliers
07HEA-SG00100 Brake Spring Compressor

Kaz's idea would be your best bet;).

Thanks Honcho / Larry.
I have the tools - well almost - I have the the actual Honda compressor and an Ebay version of the snap ring pliers.
It seemed to work well for getting the internals out.
I will get on the cleaning of the roller bearings and take a look at opening the piston.

Thanks for the help - Al
