California N.S.X smog vehicles,different than the rest?

Greetings!
Can you help me out fellow xrs?
I am doing my homework as i am shopping for an N.S.X.
Are the California Nsxs smogged differently than the rest or was the vehicle ahead of the curve on California smog standards just the way it was originally engineered,and they are all the same?
I hate to buy a California smogged n.s.x and i give up horse power do that reason.
