Cabin noise after divider removal

Can anyone that has been in an NSX with the divider glass changed to lexan/polycarbonate for cage bars comment on the increase in in-cabin noise levels?

I am seriously thinking of removing it and have been talking to someone about a custom rollbar. I am just wondering how much noise comes in for street use? Is it unbearable?

Doc I did read that thread already, unfortunately it's old and the pictures are gone.

I hear you about the car, and without derailing this too much, I will just say I really like my car, and I like driving it fast sometimes. Since I can't really do it on the street, the track is where I do it. I don't know if I am so much a racer or a track junkie as a guy who just wants the chance to drive HIS CAR fast in a safe environment. My priorities are just different. Also, yes, it's a nice clean 2005. And yes, I am making a major mod. But it can go back to stock. And when I look a other cars I like, like the Ford GT, they are a lot of money. So even if I kill the value of the NSX by 10K, it's still a relatively inexpensive car to do that with... I'd be more hesitant to do it in a 200K car.

Still your suggestion of dual NSX's has merit and I'm going to give that some thought. Thank you.

Getting back to the subject, I think this can be done. Can't glass be cut? What if I went to the R glass, single pane, and had it cut perfectly for the bars then booted it?

What if instead of one pane of lexan I use two?

I have a 6-point roll bar in my car and it is a daily driver. I used a fire retardent polycarbonate that is 1/2 inch thick and if you take your time and seal it , it will be almost as quiet. The hard part is getting your stock glass out in one piece and saving your weatherstripping. If you put in removable door bars no-one will even know you have a roll bar in it. No you can not cut the glass and use it as it is tempered glass. I thought of two panes of glass as well but you want to keep the fire out if something goes wrong. My car is presently in Phoenix and I am in Canada or I would send you some pics. If you want you can pm me for more info.
