I've seen this happen to so many vehicles. The crash standards for semi's trailers really need to be reassessed.

Although that may be true, I think in this situation it wouldn't have made a difference. It's a sad situation nevertheless.

What do you mean? The semi trailer was not at fault.....it is a steel box on wheels that will always win when a low vehicle slams into it. Department of Transportation has very strict demands on semi trucks and semi trailers. However, they have little control over what the driver of the C5 was doing.

Notice what looks to be blood splatter on the left door of the semi trailer. Perhaps the Vette driver's head? Looks to be about the correct height.
