C series dyno records in NSX?

Hey guys sorry for the noobish style post but I do have a method to my madness of this post. I come from the acura legend world (your bloated C series cousins  ), so I'm looking around for a list or posts of NSX's or C series engines with high dyno numbers. I am currently the highest powered acura legend thats documented and running currently, so I was wondering where you nsx guys are as far as power numbers? I know I've seen a few in the 800whp+ but those were strictly race cars, so whose got a high hp street car/non shop sponsored car? on pump gas or e85. Thanks if you can forward some names and builds :)

I'll let dynomike chime in if he has the charts but you may be able to find them by searching around... I believe they got 1000whp out of a C series with a twin turbo setup. He told me the car usually runs closer to 600whp around town, but at least the owner knows it can "go there".

lowellhigh79 has over 1000 WHP. He is the highest I know of.

But not many here are into dyno queen numbers.

I'm mainly looking for cars over the 550whp mark. I think I seen one in what I've found :(

There are a lot over that mark, but the info is scattered all over the place and some not on this forum/online. Not sure what you are looking for, or why, but good luck.

See? I told you... no one cares here. LOL... it's just not like most other car forums.

Mine puts out 232 whp on 91 octane.
Despite 23 years of practice, I still can't drive it as fast as Senna drove the prototype, so power is not my problem.

Do you have any links to your engine build? I'm in NW Pittsburgh myself and interested in what mods you've made to the C-series.

Thanks,

Dave

hi dave, I'm in pittsburgh for my location. But basically I have a c35a block with c32a (legend type 2 heads), arp head studs from a NSX, pauter I beam rods, CP 9:1 pistons, ported and polished heads, custom intake manifold and a q45 throttle body and upgraded the coil packs from stock to LS2 truck coils with hemi spark plugs. Its a very unique and custom build, BUT its fun :)

it looks like this

and sounds like this https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=548230283249&set=o.2219172026&type=2&theater

The reason I was asking about dyno records, is because last year I got offered a spot in hondatuning magazine as a feature car. I know I'll have the highest powered legend ever, but I was seeing if I could be the highest powered street/non shop sponsored C series engine. Basically we were trying to find out something cool to grab attention since everyone does J swaps and C series are "old school"

sorry but nothing is more sexy than an NSX engine bay

I also have a legend sedan blown head gasket no time to fix LOL I love the Legend and I wish I had the typeII engine but oh well

well i did own a 92 blk/blk basch supercharged nsx... i just wanted something more "fun" and with 4 doors because we all know more doors = more whores :p

and for your legend just do a 3.5 swap.. it can be done for less than 1000 bucks and wont ever BHG ever again :p

I think one of Cody's kits was close to 1,000 whp as well.

Yes, back in 2008 Cody made 920 whp and 641 tq with a large single turbo.

I am a OEM guy, I could do a RL 3.5 swap but then the car would only be interesting to certain age of buyers, as a stock OEM legend may be interesting to all ages.

let the next buyer swap it, or let the next guy drive it OEM.

and I agree we use better words, example I will fix your sentence

" 4 doors because we all know more doors = more panties on the leather "

Many of us NSX owners are/were also Legend owners. The NSX is blessed with a hand full of great vendors who make and continue to make great aftermarket parts for this car. The NSX has a great aftarmarket support. The Legend has virtually no aftarmarket support. Any significant mods to a Legend will no doubt be a custom job. This Legend engine build is pretty awesome. I had 3 Legends back in the day and when I sold my last one in 2003 3.5L hybrids were just beginning to become reality. In my opinion the Legend was a great platform to mod especially with its longitudinal mounted engine, so I'm glad to see the current Legend owners continue to push through the lack of parts for the Legend and create some cool project cars.

I wont lie, I like that quote!

also dont think the 3.5 will change the age of buyers, it won't alot of the OG members who want the car to last do the 3.5 swap because of less likely hood of issues down the road. Its not a 'speed' mod, its a reliable mod, the torque curve is just different so it feels faster.

thanks chrisK, I have to say I think I remember seeing your name on the legend.org etc back in the day? got a pic of your old legends?

What I really need is to find a working AEM ems from a nsx to borrow to make sure mine went bad.

Greek, as previously mentioned no one here gives a shit. This is the wrong crowd for that type of discussion. We are happy to provide information and share useful data but if all you want is a crowd to showboat for, you can continue doing so on the Legend forums and FB page.

OP. You are looking for a hp number verification to be able make a nice headline without lying to the public. If you make more than 1001whp, you can make the claim of highest hp non shop c series. If not, you are not. That should close out this thread.

FF Drifter.... I do have a point I wanted to ask those people who are over 700whp what they are using for headgaskets... or if anyone is fire ringing the block. I dont know the nsx forums well enough, I just gotta ask and hope someone gives a straight answer of who to talk to.

Either the oem 3.2 multi layer metal, or the cometic multi layer metal. May have to time-sert for the head studs.

O-ringing is pretty rare.

Off Topic: That explains why I keep seeing Legends with RL engine swaps. I am still debating on an older Legend 6-speed for DD or fork out the money for a RLX.

sorry
